Susan Leibovitz - 
President and Chairman of the Board 

Susan Liebovitz, EKM's President and Chairman of the Board, has over 20 years of senior management experience in information technology. With Stewart Larson, she founded EKM Corporation, having previously worked with Larson in the development and eventual sale of CIMTEK Systems, a systems integration organization. She has also held senior management and business development positions at companies such as VM Systems and Best Products and was a million dollar sales executive with IBM's mainframe software division. Her range of industry experience varies from government and DOD to financial, petrochemical, and high tech. 

 

 


Jack Bissell -
Business Consultant

Jack Bissell is EKM’s leading business consultant.  In this capacity, he guides the business development and marketing strategies for the EKM Electronic Lab Notebook product line. With over 25 years of experience working in diverse areas of the information technology industry, including engineering, management, marketing, and consulting - Bissell's well rounded portfolio brings both the vision and the strategic knowledge needed to implement long term, far reaching growth strategies for EKM. His experience in product development at both, large firms - Hitachi, NCR, and AT&T - and start-up organizations such as BioQ - is ideally suited to EKM's mission of expanding the EKM Electronic Lab Notebook business line into a major Scientific market information technology supplier. 

 

 


Thomas D.Y. Chung, Ph.D. -

Scientific Advisory Board Chair

 

T.C. is the Chair of the Scientific Advisory Board for San Diego-based EKM Corp., a knowledge management firm. T.C., who focuses on the knowledge management and electronic laboratory notebook areas, is also an independent consultant and specializes in assisting fast growth life sciences companies and major pharmaceutical companies in strategies for the development, implementation and integration of novel technologies in the drug discovery area, and in making critical assessments as to whether these technologies are likely to be successfully commercialized and demonstrate the required return-on-investment. He has experience in a broad range of life sciences specialties including the pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device areas.

 

T.C. brings more than 18 years of experience as a scientist and R&D executive with four major pharmaceutical companies including GSK (prior SK&F), Merck, Bristol-Myers Squibb and DuPont Pharmaceuticals and two successful venture- backed biotechnology companies in combinatorial chemistry and label free cell basked assay platforms. At Dupont, he built, managed and strategically positioned a world-class lead discovery operation that was responsible for early drug discovery. He had a leadership role in evaluating novel technologies for acquisition by Dupont and in designing and implementing development strategies following their acquisition.

 

T.C. has a Bachelors of Science degree in chemistry from MIT, and a Ph.D. in bio-inorganic chemistry from the University of California at Berkeley. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed articles in a diverse group of scientific journals, and holds three patents and seven pending applications for inventions he co-created.

 


Roger Frauman-

Scientific Advisory Board Member

 

Roger Fraumann is an information technology and business development professional with over 25 years of experience in global business development, strategic marketing and sales. His expertise includes worldwide partner, supplier and sales channel development, contract negotiations and business intelligence. A frequent advisor and speaker, he is often asked to discretely resolve intractable business development challenges.  In 1989, he co-founded EFConsulting (EFC) to provide personalized marketing and business development services for select clients. Roger frequently draws on his extensive experience and contacts across the computer, networking and high technology industries to provide targeted research and initial business overtures. Clients often consult with Roger for highly creative and results-oriented problem solving. His strong inter-personal skills contribute to rapidly building strong alliances and teams.  Roger has held various management positions in organizations and was most recently affiliated with IBM where he lead business development efforts across Asia. Other affiliations include: NCR, BEA Systems, UNIX International, BeXcom and BioQ. He also served in the U.S. Air Force where he held a Top Secret Crypto Clearance.
